Q. How does it work

A. ECO-FUEL CONVERSIONS uses a two tank system. The existing diesel tank and filter will supply diesel fuel to the engine at start up and shut down. After start up, radiator fluid will transfer heat from the engine to the heat exchangers in the conversion system. These heat exchangers will heat the vegetable oil in the fuel filter, fuel lines, and fuel tank. The heat will reduce the viscosity (Thickness) of the oil so that it is similar to diesel and can be injected into the engine properly. When the vehicle is being shut down for a long period of time, a purge system is incorporated to flush the fuel system of vegetable oil and replace it with diesel for the next start up.

Q. Can I run any diesel engine on vegetable oil?

A. Yes! We are able to convert most makes and models. Custom kits are also available to fit your individual needs. Call ECO-FUEL CONVERSIONS for details.

Q. Will running straight vegetable oil hurt the vehicle?

A. As long as the vehicle is in mechanically sound condition and an ECO-FUEL CONVERSIONS system is properly operated and maintained. Studies show that vegetable oil has superior lubrication and detergent values over conventional diesel fuel. Examination of engines running on vegetable oil properly have show dramatic reduction of carbon deposits over petrol diesel engines.

Q. Does it do any thing to the performance of the vehicle?

A. If it does, we haven't noticed. For all intensive purposes, the car seems to run the same as it does on diesel.

Q. Is there any extra maintenance?

A. Yes, only routine filter maintenances required. Filter replacement intervals depend on how clean the oil is before it is poured in the fuel tank.
